GDN News Update

So it’s been almost a week since .gdn had its GA launch and here’s a quick recap of all the GDN Registry news:

Registrar News

Since our last press release GDN Registry has some exciting news to unveil regarding accredited registrars. Safenames is now officially an accredited registrar of .gdn domains. GDN Registry is very happy to have Safenames officially onboard. We will do everything in our power to ensure Safenames, as well as every other officially accredited registrar, has all the support from GDN Registry to help build and sustain a prosperous relationship.

Official Domains Sold

Unfortunately it’s difficult for the public to find correct numbers of .gdn registrations. As of March 11, 2016 GDN Registry has 10,755 .gdn domain registrations. Ntld Stats’ current stats of 3,120 are incorrect as of March 11, 2016. GDN Registry is very proud of all the .gdn domains that are sold, so GDN Registry just wants to accurately reflect the most current domain sales numbers for .gdn domain names.

GA Launch has been a very busy time for .gdn domain names. As such, this has been an exhilarating week for GDN Registry with all the activity and because of this GDN Registry expects a bright future for .gdn.

GDN Press Release

The General Availability launch of the GDN extension has been a highly anticipated milestone for the GDN Registry, a company that has spent considerable time preparing for the acquisition and launch of its new TLD. GDN Registry is especially excited for the GA launch of .gdn because it offers a true generic option to .com. For this reason, .gdn is both a mass market TLD and an extension projected to provide high conversion rates for partner registrars.

To prepare for the launch, GDN Registry established a strong foundation with top domain registrars like Mark Monitor & Gandi & soon-to-come Safenames & Open Provider with much more to follow. GDN Registry will work hard to support its registrar partners to ensure the partnership is as fruitful as possible.

Since the GA launch, GDN is proud to announce that over 9,000 .gdn domain names have been registered and counting. Some of the top brands in world like Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, & much more have registered their GDN domain names. With numbers growing daily, GDN is one of the cheapest domains available in the industry, especially considering our 3-year registration package.

What You Need to Know About .GDN

The .gdn extension is a new generic extension that allows businesses and individuals to secure an additional domain name to represent their brands online. The .gdn extension stands for "global domain name" and is an exciting alternative for brands to expand and protect their business portfolios. The .gdn extension is available for brands of all types - ranging from small to large businesses and individuals to groups as well.

Just like its generic TLD counterparts like .com, .net and.org - the new .gdn extension is easy to remember and also works well with current brand domain extensions.

Improving search engine rankings is a constant struggle for all companies and brands across the all industries. With that in mind .gdn extensions allow trademark owners to be as specific as they like when it comes to choosing their domain, which can greatly improve search engine rankings for sites with keyword-relevant .gdn extensions.

A .gdn domain will also help brand and companies reach a global platform which will improve overall visibility and reach. Securing a trademark-related .gdn extension for your brand allows you to link all of your domains together under one proprietary brand name, which improves the visibility of your brand and expands its reach among consumers.

Those who register for a .gdn will be pleased to know that their registration also includes a number of free perks as well, like:

  • Location based email targeting for potential clients
  • Verified email database with unlimited email service
  • Optional user mailbox with more than 100 professional email templates

Our GA period will begin on March 7th, 2016 so .gdn extensions will soon hit the market for general audiences. With the benfits .gdn provides to its customers combined with its low price there is no reason to not register a .gdn domain for yourself.
